Correspondence

I receive a large number of emails, letters, and phone calls each day and I will try to reply to you as quickly as possible. However, please note that all communications, including emails, are dealt with in the order in which they are received.

I am receiving an increasing number of organised campaign emails and postcards, sometimes several new campaigns per week, which arrive on top of normal constituency correspondence.

Postal Campaigns. It is important that I continue to know the strength of feeling on an issue and I prefer to respond to every inquiry, but the sheer size of postal campaigns means that it is hard to justify to the tax payer the cost and time taken for individual written replies, so regrettably I will no longer reply to every item of campaign correspondence. Instead I will respond to the campaign organiser and post a response to the campaign on my website

I am sorry to do this, as it is rather impersonal, but can see no other way of maintaining a good service for all my constituents unless I approach campaigns this way. I will continue to respond to email campaigns on an individual basis.

As Parliamentary rules prevent an MP dealing with enquiries from another MP's constituency please check to ensure you are a constituent of Totnes by using this website: http://findyourmp.parliament.uk/.

If you are one of my constituents, please ensure you have included your full name, address and postal code. If you have not, please resend your email with this information.
