Thank you to all the volunteers at the National Trust, Greenway and across South Devon; more than 400 volunteers help to keep our heritage alive. From the moment I entered the house to hear the Grand Piano filling the house with music it was clear that this was going to be an unforgettable visit. The enthusiasm and commitment of all those who love the house and its links with Agatha Christie shines through. Despite the driving wind and rain, I was able to enjoy the vegetable garden which has been recreated over 3 years and now supplies fresh produce for the cafe. It was an unusual way to raise the roof however, with the top of the Yurt flying away to dramatically end a fantastic Devon Cream Tea.
The volunteers were all clear that working with the National Trust is rewarding and fascinating work and that they are keen to welcome new members to their team.
